Dilli Ki Sardi

The very famous Dilli ki Sardi!!!!! All expect that Delhi should see some good chilly weather now. After all, its the second half of the last month of the year.

I remember a few years back, the weather at this time of the year used to be so cold that we literally shivered even inside the quilts and blankets. The layers of sweaters and jackets were sometimes not sufficient to fight the cold. Getting out of houses without caps or mufflers or scarfs was actually silly. It felt as if the ears will be chopped off.
I still remember the incidence of 1st Jan 2004. My friend was carrying a few bottles of beer for celebration. The bottles were not kept in the refrigerator. The bottles were just at the normal temperature. And while he carried those from the shop to home, they got ice-chilled. It was cold beyond expectation. Wow!

And take today! I need a single jacket in the morning. In the day time, I take that off when I feel hot. Although I remain closed inside the premises, still being in mere a cotton shirt--not a good sign. That shows the famous Dilli ki Sardi has vanished somewhere. Really. No more cold waves. No more shivering hands. No more chill runs down the spine.

We miss you, Dilli ki Sardi! Come back.
